Default Sol Project. Rags to Riches.

pics on:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

well, heres my project. i'll let the pics do the talking. ask questions, and i'll answer what i can.

this is the car the day i bought it. the paint looks great, but in reality, its resprayed on 1/2 the car, and looks like **** at any other angle. the front of the car is red, the *** end is pink.

stock d15b7. 103hp of pure fury. it had 107k on it when i got it. and it had 107k on it when i pulled it. ran fine, the clutch grabbed a bit high though.

this is the beautiful full b16 swap i picked up for $1000. came from a wrecked del sol. sat outside someones house for a month or so. kinda dirty, but for $1000 i didn't care.

the block code. covered in oil. yeck.

my friends. haha. it was december. dorks.

the super clean, freshly rebuilt head that he didn't tell me about. :insert big smile here:

the valve train, disassembled.

the block. bit of build up, nothing too abnormal.

same as above, looks good to me.

the combustion chambers, and the cute little valves.

cleaned pistons (god bless brake klene)

the block, half way through grinding off all the oxidation.

front side of the block, "cleaned" up. i use the term losely.

the block. painted, purdy. i love the color it came out.

the head painted and dropped on.

painted block code... nothing special.

painted tranny.

cleaned up, and painted intake manifold.

my parts. you can see a radiator, lip, flywheel, clutch, oil pressure gauge, headunit, shift linkage, test pipe, omnipower suspension, header, rear mount, hasports, and skunk2 shift ****. not pictured are my seats.

the sol, minus the little d15 that could. i neglected to take pics when we pulled it. took 2 hours, went pretty smooth. (minus a faceful of antifreeze)

beautiful ominpower coilovers.

fenders pulled, start of the wiring tuck.

rs*r exhaust. last one in the CONTIDENT in any of the authorized wholesale dealers inventories. had to get it from friggin canada. i knew that place was good for something.

re-did my wiring harness so i can tuck it. learned one thing from doing that. 10 year old eletrical tape is NASTY.

engine bay primered.

same as above.

i did. the hoses are being replaced. i just wanted to leave them on, paint, and replace. its easier than removing, painting and trying to remember.

bay is going to be black, so i wanted the brake lines and all that to match. i didnt paint anything i didnt want to, and i didnt miss any spots i wanted to hit.
