eibach sportlines w/stock shocks?
Hello Honda-Tech peeps, i have a 1997 LS sedan dropped on Eibach Sportlines/w stock shocks, ive been running this set up for over a year now and i know that when you get sportlines your suppose to get aftermarket shocks to handle the stiffer spring rate but my question is how do i know when my shocks are blown?can i still get by on this set-up ?will it hurt my car? help/advice/insight is needed, tia guys
I have had that same setup now for the past 50,000 miles. I kinda forgot how stock setup feels like but I dont' think my shocks are blown yet. I get a tiny bounce going over speed bumps but it doesn't seem too bad during my autocrosses. Sportlines really aren't THAT much stiffer that stock on my GSR but your LS could benefit from a fresh set of Koni's! Your shocks are blown once you notice a bouncing feel going over speed bumps and such.
Yeah, as said before, you'll know.
The prob with stock shocks on stiffer lowering springs is a combination of a lack of damping force to compensate for the increased spring rate and the fact that the aftermarket springs are forcing the shocks to operate on the very end of their travel range.
*shrug* But I guess if it feels OK, it is....

OBD1Kenobe has mastered the dampening force and cannot be defeated. A young padawan such as myself contains insufficient knowledge about dampers to give such inferior personal opinions. My apologies.

stock shocks and sportlines should last you a while depending on how you drive. I have stock shocks with ground controls and the ride still feels stock
