you have a couple of choices to make..first off what size to go with....for a naturally aspirated engine look into going for a 2-2.25" size piping, with fewer mods go with the lesser of the two, with more mods go with the 2.25"....now if you are looking to head more towards the turbo, nitrous, supercharger route then look into either the 2.25" piping for a smaller system and a 2.5" piping for a engine with a larger dose of boost....remember that although you may have wild fantasies of strapping on a turbo kit and running 15 psi right now, think about how long it might be until that becomes a reality and figure that into your decision, your exhaust system may dog you now if you get 2.5" piping and only run 115 hp worth of exhaust gases through it...another option that you have is whether or not to get crushed bent or mandrel bent piping, this might actually be a really easy decision because it might be difficult to find a shop that does mandrel bent piping in your area, it is just too damn expensive for a lot of shops to get the machine, the difference between the two is imagine a straw, when you bend it the diameter of the inside of the straw becomes smaller due to the bend, that is crushed bent piping, in a mandrel bent system the inside diameter of the straw would remain the same throughout the entire bend (hope you understood that)...in all reality a crushed bent system will work just fine with most engine packages that people put together now a days...just my $.02

i totally understand what you are saying. i am thinkin about going with the 2-2.5 piping cuz it will be a long time until my ride is fast and a lot of hp. but on the type of piping you are talkin about what would be a deacent price to look for? by the way thanks a lot for the help

price wise, you should be able to pick up a nice universal muffler of your choice for about $80-100, more if you wanted a name brand one like 5zigen or tanabe, and as far as the piping goes a muffler shop should charge about $60-70 to do the catback and install the muffler for you, so not that expensive at all compared to a name brand catback that run between $400-600

I got my 5 Zigen Fireball axle back for $100 shipped, I took it to a muffler shop they put it on and did the 2.25" piping for 100 bucks so $200 for my custom system. It sounds pretty good no problems yet. I have a problem shelling out 400-500 for an aftermarket system, though they are nicer.

I'd say 2.25" is about the biggest you want to go if youre staying NA
3" for turbo
