I don't suppose anyone has Hankook Z214's yet?
If anyone has the Hankook Z214's already (or has the Z211's),
Have you heat-cycled these prior to use? Or are they tolerant of a ride to the track the night before to scuff 'em up a little?
These are the new Hankook DOT slick looking thing.

This is for HPDE.

The USTCC guys run those. if you check out NASA forums there is a thread, some were in the first 3 pages that talks about them.
whta i remeber is, great grip, maybe better then RA1, but some of the heavy cars complained of the tires crapin out near the end of the race. its all over there thoguh check it out first hand

I just got back from ITR Expo at MAM..
The rears don't show much wear. The front's inside edge is worn so there's no more inner tread depth markers. Not sure how much wear there really is, or how much life they have left. I also drove back and forth to the hotel (25 miles?) twice.
They were FAST in the dry, pretty fast in the damp, and sucked *** in the rain. Sidewalls felt stiff. 205/50R15 on 15x7, a quarter of an inch toe out front, and some random amount of negative camber in the front, and less camber in the rear.

If they last more than a few events, I may get them again. I don't think they'll last as long as the Toyo's. I needed a few good saves in the damp/wet and they didn't do anything unusual. I thought they gave plenty of warning before they gave up traction in the dry.

please keep us (specifically me) up to date on how these tires wear. i should be in the market for new rubber in the next couple months.
If I'm reading their contingency form right, they pay out to the top 3 guys at Regionals, and the top 3 hankook drivers at regionals. I wonder if there have to be 5 hankook drivers in the class to qualify for the "fastest 'kook" money. If that's not a requirement, you get money no matter what if you're on Hankooks in a 5+ car class, and that's pretty damned sweet if you ask me.
Frisby Tire quoted me 163 each, btw, in 205/50-15

that's exactly part of the reason i'm on Z211's still. i'll have the contingency forms with me this weekend in topeka, and hopefully i can be the first place kook finisher.
