I have a 91 Integra Ls that I have in b16a engine from a SIR civic. I have a upgrade muffler system and a Intake . I ran the car last month at drag meet car never impress me at all friend say I need to check timing and so on on the car cause it should be doing better time. So now I plan going all out now on the engine just bought a VAFC2 wonder if that was a wise choice and is it going to make any great gain in horse power ?
I got a D15B VTEC w a CAI and a VAFC ll. My car is sputtering like no other now like the engine keeps hesitating/pausing. I cant figure it out. My recommendation would be to find someone that KNOWS how to tune the VAFC and get it on a dyno. If not, you could really **** up your motor. I just hope I havent fucked mine up.........

yes I plan on dyno tune it same day I install but want to now if its a wise move to buy it and install it and is there any great power gain. Well hope u don't damage the engine those engine are cheap here in Jamaica
vafc's arent really a good mod.. the best thing it got is the vtec crossover change.. other than that anything that you mess with is just blockin the signals that ecu sends and sends its own.. so it doesnt really make a real difference.. if you do get it.. the most you might see is about 10whp compared the 20whp+ you might see with hondata or anyother ems

it's more of a safety mod than a power gainer. you can tune it and make more power but it helps to tune your motor better to keep you from blowing it up.
i run one and i accually saw 12whp gain when i tuned it, not great gain but the motor runs better and smoother.
i'm selling it now and going to run hondata now that i'll be fully built. but with your minor mods it might not do a whole lot for you. so you might not see any gains cuz you don't have that much to tune

Thanks much so what u saying it was not really a great investment, so I will not seeing a lower time in my class at the drag track
im getting ready to install the SAFC2 tonight. i understand theres a lot more difference in these 2 units than just the VTEC function. im just worried its going to run like crap unless i use a wideband to dial it in. seems like it would run just liek stock until you started turning the dial.
anyone who has used a SAFC2 please chime in.
