Default Oil Sending Unit??

Theres a little nipple right next to the oil filter that has a plug connected to it. I didnt know this, but I had the plug disconnected and my car was shooting lots of white smoke out of the exhaust. Now with the plug reconnected there is no more smoke. What is and what does that little plug do? Also, would this plug being disconnected cause my CEL to come on (bc it is on, but maybe from something else)

If it has a single pin connector on it, that is the oil pressure switch. But it serves no purpose other than turning on the light in the gauge cluster when it detects low oil pressure, I'm not sure why you have all the smoke when you unplug it.

So you're in Matthews, huh? Good to see some others nearby! Going to VIR in July?

yeah bro i do live in matthews, we should meet up sometime, me and another friend of mine both have blue ed's with swaps but we get lonely since its only the 2 of us of this side of town...

as far as the code goes, the code is 43, fuel supply system

and it did have a single pin connector, so i take it it is the oil pressure switch....

but that code has been haunting me for over a week now

The oil pressure sending unit will not throw a code if it's unplugged. I've had mine unplugged ever since I installed my autometer gauge and had no problems.

A friend of mine just got code 43 as well, and the o2 sensor had come unplugged? Not sure why this caused that code, but after he plugged it back in, the code was gone.

Bad ricer! Down boy!

Don't mind him, he hasn't had his medication today. Maybe we can all meet up sometime and trade broken EF stories.

lets have the meet at my house, all pitch in and fix my car and i'll provide food and big screen gt4 action , then we can all go for a cruise with our cars afterwards...

sounds like a plan to me!

GT4... mmmmmmm... I'm a poor Xboxer, the best I can do is look forward to Forza Motorsports.

Todd, you up for anything sometime? We can get a big 704 EF meet going. Complementary main relays to all who attend! We've come up with some games to play:

Bobbing for distibutors
Pin the screw in the distributor
Whats that screw?
Name the tools for the job
Cross member stories
Name that smell
Tales from the wiring harness

Lets see if we can pick a day sometime.
