Disclaimer: not a honda, but drag racing parts related!
I just recently purchased a 1982 S-10 pickup with a 305 in it, and this thing was obviously built for drag racing by the original owner. (v8, full posi, traction bars, B&M slap shifter, and a FUEL CELL in the bed.)
My question is regarding the fuel cell. Currently the feed is from the bottom, and at the top of the cell is just a 90* AN hose fitting, going nowhere.
The fuel cell is like this one:

The previous owner (high school kid) said that fitting was just a vent. Well if I fill the cell and take a corner quickly, this "vent" turns into an overflow, all over the inside of the bed!
I've never dealt with fuel cells before, hence this post. Instead of just a fitting, would one of these tip valves take care of this problem?

Should I run a vent line off of that tip valve, or is the "filter" it references good enough to vent to atmosphere?
Thanks for any help!!

edit: changed link for tip valve, hope this one works

Typically there are no issues with splilling when going around a corner. Because of the fact that if you filled it that much, there is a possibility that you would not get the lid black lid back on. Remember that the -8AN vent is a male end which does give you an extra inch os so above the cell. You can use one of the roll over tips if you want to for added security/peace of mind.

just a get a cap a cap for it. i did that on one of my sump fittings. One of the top fittings is the return fitting and the other is a rollover. http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/nc...r=361

thanks for the replies!
there is foam in the cell, maybe I need some more?
if I were to just cap that top fitting off wouldn't that create a vacuum that the fuel pump would have to work against to draw fuel? plus the thermal expansion/contraction due to environmental variables, wouldn't it need some sort of pressure relief or vent?
I had it filled to maybe 2-3 inches from the top, so it wasn't completely full, yet I'm still getting some serious splash out.
The cell I have has threaded holes, but there's a male-male adapter in the hole with the 90* fitting off of that. I think it's -8 AN but not sure, any easy way to tell?

Summitracing.com has a roll over fitting. Get that and then run a line off of that come back higher then the cell and put a filter on it. This way it will vent, won't splash out (cause it's higher than the cell), and prevent a spill it you were to roll over.
