Default Slightly Rebuildin my a6, questions

Sup all. Well today i realized that i seem to be burning oil. I'm soon to be getting another a6, but with more miles than the one I have. The motor will be boosted so I'm looking to do a slight rebuild on it just to make it a little more fresh. Things on my list to replace are rod and main bearings, headgasket, piston rings, and arp headstuds. As far as the bearings go should I stick with oem honda, or go with something aftermarket. The motor is currently cam'd and the head will soon be built, so I'd like it to be able to see 8k on occassion with no worries about spinning a bearing. Also, I've read that you should plastiguage the for bearing clearances but i wasnt sure if its entirely neccessary. I personally know a couple people who just bought aftermarket bearings, installed them and are still running great. Any other suggestions on rebuilding the block? Any specific brands if not Oem Honda to go with that dont cost a arm and a leg. TIA
