94 ls studdering at 1k-2k rpm?

Hi my friend has a 94 ls and it seems to studder at 1k-2k rpm. It wasn't doing it like 30 min b4 he drove it earlier. Popped the hood and i hear a ticking sound near the dizzy. any clue what could be wrong?

There could be an issue with the dizzy. He could be in need of a valve clearance job etc.

It could be several things...from bad gas, to vacuum issue, to slipping clutch, to fouled spark plugs-resulting in need of a tuneup...also check your distributor (replace your cap and rotor).
