Decisions Decisions
At the moment I'm looking at two different 98 Type Rs. The first is a 3.5 hour drive, has 47k miles on it and a few mods. It has 17 inch rims and he doesn not have the stock rims, which I would prefer, a Ractive exhaust, which is a bit loud for my taste, and an Iceman CAI. He does have both the stock muffler and intake. The car is in great shape with a perfect interior and pretty good exterior, with a few scrapes on the front lip and 2 small almost unnoticeable dings. I went and saw, and drove, this car on Saturday and it is selling at 17,000 firm. The second car I have never seen. It has 57k highway miles on it, the owner is a salesman, and has all the original paperwork including the window sticker, as the owner bought it as a collectors car. He has informed me that it is in absolutely perfect condition, garage kept, and never even driven in the snow. This car is located 6.5 hours away, and is sellking for 17,800 negotiable. A friend of my fathers may be able to fly us there. Here's my delima. I would love to have either car but which should I go for. I would love to have the car totally stock and mod her as I wished. The only thing holding me back is the miuleage. As a Honda I would think it's not that big of a deal. Just need some reassurance for spending atleast 17k on a car. I am a student so I won't be putting a lot of miles on the car. Thanks for reading the legnthy post. I'm really excited about finally getting a Type R. Thanks, Ryan

the difference between the mileage is 10,000 miles...not as big of a sticking point when both of the cars are upwards of 45,000.
Ractive exhaust and Riceman intake...hmmm

Exactly...and not enough can be said about the condition of a car who is owned by someone **** enough to keep the window sticker, compared to someone who would put whackazz parts on an R. You will be glad you bought the car from someone who respects their vehicle more.
. The guy I bought mine from kept it in emaculate condition. I am thankfull for it every day.

If you're not in a hurry, I would wait a few more months until the "right" one shows up. I'm sure there are several 97-98 with less than 40k miles... just gotta give it some time, IMHO.

As soon as I get a hold of the owner of the second car, I should be driving up to Long Island early Saturday morning, hopefully returning with a beautiful, maintained machine with a lot of life left in her
