Default Quarter Mile Times

What is the record 1/4 mile time for a 4th/5th gen Lude without a motor swap? Im using a Supra term, but with BPU (headers, exhaust, intake...ect) what times would you be looking at then? How good is the handling for a Lude? Sorry for so many questions, but thank you.

Someone from hondaprelude.com has almost stock - cai/h/e/vtec controller.
He ran a 14.39 - very good; hardly believable. From the pictures of his car he had added weight too. That time can be slimmed down a lot.

vntperformance (member here) - got 14.52 w/ a good amount of performance upgrades:

AEM Anodized Blue 2 Piece CAIntake
5Zigen "Miracle" Fireball 2.5 Cat-Back Exhaust
STR Anodized Blue Cam Seal
Polished Valve Cover
Accel 300+ Thundervolt Blue Spark Plug Wires
Mallory 682 Race Ignition System
Gutted Cat
Apexi V-AFC
Crower 63422 Billet Stage2 Cams
REV +.5mm Oversize Valves
REV Titanium Retainers
REV Dual Valve Springs
AEM Cam Gears
ERICKS Racing Billet 68mm Throttle Body
Port/Polish Head w/5 Angle Valve Job
Match Port/Polish Intake Manifold
Match Port/Polish DC Sports C/C Header
JDM Type-S 11:1 Pistons w/OEM Rings
Balanced Complete Bottom End & Micro Polished Crank
0.25 Milled Head w/Polished CombChamber
Spoon Sports Metal Head Gasket
Spoon Sports 65º Thermostat
Fidanza Flywheel (Balanced)
A.C.T HA3SS Clutch Kit

Check it out, there is also dyno's if you're into that!

I had a mid 13 second N/A car on street tires, just only got a 13.90 run before I did a bunch more stuff, then blew up. never had a chance to get my mid 13 timeslip.

1993 vtec, 14.2-14.1@96mph on slicks. All bolt-ons, minor weight reduction, full leather interior. Never once opened that motor, 145k miles

[edit...........Then the turbo came and it went by-by in 20 mins... ]

14.5? With all that? That's really, really bad...bas as in not good. Why get the parts if you can't even drive?

That is a ton of mods for the time it seems. I guess Im used to a few hundred $$'s making a significant difference in hp and time slips. The Lude seems like a great car despite of that, I guess I need to take a step out of my 2JZGTE world

Actually.,

If you look carefully at my setup, you see where it says 14.52 BEFORE BUILD UP that means before I went into the motor! Which means that when I only had I/H/E/VAFC, that's what that means......... take some time to read before you post. I haven't run the car yet after I went into the motor ie; cams/camgears/pistons/p&p/clutch/flywheel/etc (Awaiting Dyno Tuning & Local Track to Open)!

sheeesh...

if you continue to read (tsik tsik) he says

Before 14.53@96.33mph
Now 13.??@??.??mph

so obviously hes hoping for 13's... 12's are unreachable with his mods.

and for my 1/4th, with intake only 14.8

Agreed, and noway are 12's reachable with that setup! You need some serious power(or serious stripping) to shave off another 1.5sec...........

On slicks, no back seats, and a good suspension setup, I think a 12.9 is attainable. I/H/E and on front slicks, my friend ran a 14.2 in his 4th gen.

Acutally, looking over the list of mods again...I take back my previous statements...low 13's at best.

You do know that back seats weigh under a pound, right? That's in leather.

No, I didn't know that. I'm not a Prelude person, just flipping through some posts. I realize I'm not in my territory here so I'll keep my trap shut

aaah its cool, it never hurts to give your thoughts on the scenario. I was saying that not to be a d!ck, but to point out that most people, including me at one point, think that the rear seats are a good way to remove weight. Once you're in there, you realize they're nothing but a molded piece of foam!

I think you're reffering to "ED_CAMDEN" that time could be correct, I believe he lives in Canada where the air is a little colder and denser.

The typical times for Lude owners with similar mods in CA and TX are in the 14.5-14.7 range.
