Need Help with Oil pump removal
Alright I finally got the bal. gear off (both of them along with the crank pulley and gear)...and all the bolts are out of the oil pump. I also took all the bolts out of the oil pan and should be ready to remove the oil pump. I do not see anything else holding it in place. Except....how do I get it off? It has sealer and I do not want to pry on anything. Should the oil pump slide off over the crank and bal. shafts? Anyone.....????
You have the right idea. There are tabs on the oil pump that you can get a socket and screwdriver under to pry the thing off. Start at a seam that terminates at a point. You can also use a wood/plastic dowel and a mallet to free up the sealant, just be careful. That HondaBond is tough stuff.

Thanks Pirate....I started to pry at the top with a rag between the screwdriver and the pump. It started to come apart and I can fit the screwdriver in a few places. Will continue onward tomorrow and let you know how it goes. Once I get the pump off, then I pry off the oil pan, I can really get to work.
Ok, got the oil pan off and got the oil pump off too.....I started taking the bearing bridge off ( in the sequence mentioned in the service manual) and got all done except for the last bolt.....breaker bar slipped and I think it is about stripped.....now what? I saw this tool at Advance auto that is meant for stripped bolts/nuts...guess I will have to try that, unless anyone has a good idea (besides torching it) to get this last bolt out so I can take the bearing bridge off and get to the crank finally.....
