Default Jdm ITR block w/b16a head

Wanting to know if anyone has this setup? If so how do u like it? It will be stock Jdm ITR block with b16a head. The head is slightly ported and polished with dual springs on exhaust and intake. I plan on using stock head gasket but only using the bottom layer to bump up compression. Good or bad idea? I might also get CTR cams, if I dont I will use the factory SI cams. What will the compression be with single layer gasket? Any help would be great!!

I have the same thing, but with a USDM bottom end. Remember that the B16 and the Type R used the same head, so the difference really isn't that great. As far as using a single layer head gasket, just make very sure your block and head decks are very straight, otherwise no sealy. You can play with compression ratios here:
