EGR valve

Lucky number 13.
First thing I would do is buy yourself a repair guide (chiltons, haynes, helms etc) this will save you A LOT of time and will ease the repair process on most applications.
edit: according to your other post it sounds like your code might be caused by poor egr flow...I would try cleaning out the egr ports before you replace the egr...just a suggestion.

Your code P0401 is for not enough EGR flow rate. There's other codes (P1491 & P1498) for problems with the valve so don't waste your money on a new valve just yet.
