how do i hardwire a cd player in a 88 crd
buy a wiring harness from any auto/audio department...
plug that into the OEM harness where the original radio went...
take your new radios wiring harness and match them color to color with the harness you just bought...
its pretty simple.
done.
If you have already cut off the OEM harness... put it back on and then read the above.
if you cut it off and threw it away
____
you can hardwire it... i don't know the colors off the top of my head. they do have diagrams on the net and in repair manuals though.

What about some place like cruchfield (spelling) - you know the one that sells all the audio stuff. I know that places like that (and others) usually have adapters that you can buy for your harness. Maybe that's all ya need.
Either that or maybe a google serarch? I'm always amazed at the stuff that people have put up online, so the wiring for an 88 shouldn't be that hard to find.

12+ - white/blue
ignition - yelllow/red
ground - black
illumination - red/black
left front - blue/green - gray/black ( + , - )
right front - red/green - brown/black ( + , - )
left rear - blue/yellow - gray/white ( + , - )
right rear - red/yellow - brown/white ( + , - )
Hopes this helps .. I got this off of my tech data base for work .. I am an installer. Thses are pretty accurate most of the time, but you are going to want to get a multimeter and check these wires before to connect them and use a 9 volt battery and tap the speaker wire to the battery and you will hear the speaker pop this way you know that you are hooking up the proper speaker.
Good luck
