Thermostat ?
I have a feeling my thermostat went out....the car heats up right away even after filling up the rad. I felt my bottom rad hose and its some what cold compared to the top one the top one is really hot, could this mean the thermostat is not working properly?

That's because yours was stuck open = overcooling, his is stuck closed, coolant can't get through, thus overheating

you can test it see if it's working or not
1. remove the Radiator pressure cap from a cool Radiator
2. start the engine, let it warm up and watch the surface of the coolant
3. when the coolant begin to flow, this indicates the thermostat has started to open,
if the coolant does not begin to flow, your thermostat is closed (stucked)
4. if the engine is cold and coolant circulates, this indicates the thermostat is stuck open and must be replace.
