Is it just me or its hella hard to get to the spark plugs......I want to take them out and check the gap and see if its clean. But the problem is I cant seem to get them out....What are the nut sizing and tools should I use. I've been getting crappy gas milage like 20mpg in the city could that be because of the plugs? Can you guys help out this noob?

use a socket wrench with an extension and either a long 5/8" socket or a sparkplug socket (5/8 with a little rubber piece inside).

To get the plugs out once they are loosened, you can use some 5/16 inch vacuum hose or just use the spark plug boot to grab the tip and pull it out.

This is for an NSX, but I am linking it because it has pictures of what a sparkplug socket and what length extension you would need.

When you do go to take them out, make sure your engine is nice and cool, a thick piece of metal would be a nightmare to that warm aluminum head.

I managed to get the spark plugs out and yea.....i'm gonna buy some new tools.....cuz it was a pain ......at one point I thought my socket was stuck in the spark plug chamber because the rubber peice inside the socket was stuck to the plug. After 5 minutes I was able to get it out. I checked the gap and everything is ok.....I think its because of my crazy driving cuz i drive for pizza hut....I always floor it

kragen and autozone sell those cheap T top spark plug wrench. They are like $3-$4. If you can't open with that by hand, put a water pipe on one end as a leverage, always work for me.
