f2ob h22 head swap...is it worth it
what the title says,...... i wanna know if i should build the h22 head i have sittin round with valces springs and retainers.. and p+p job... i know they say the f20bs got small valves but is it purposely done that way new to h22...
well if you have fully built h22 head it might be worth it ..how ever the f20b ports and valves are designed with high velocity in mind..the bottom end has a good r/s ratio to take advantage of that.. personally i would take allthe h22 parts and put them in the f20b head ..plus the bore sizing is gona be correct
I WAS PLANNIN ON BUILDINT THAT HEAD UP BECAUSE THEY SAID THE VALVES ARE SMALL SO YOUR SAYIN JUST TAKER THE HEAD OFF AND GET NEW VAVLES..WELL OVERSIZED VALVES AND RETAINERS AND SUCH...
i owuld say keep the valve the stock size...
but you can work the ports..theres plenty of b series motors that make gobs of power on stock sized valves...after all its only a 2.0liter

well stock spring seem to be pretty good..ive seen many stock rev to 8500 but i would nt .i take mine to 8000 cause it does seem to pullup that hihg ...in fat it slams into it before i fele power drop off .jdogg siad about 8200 should be the most youd want to go..but if your in there might as well do some rocket springs.
as far as valves go ..i hope jdogg will ahve some info on that soon as his haed is getteing worked on and then he will ahve some measurements to see what stock valves are simaliar
