Default Couple of drag racing questions

Well last night was a bit of everything at the track...Good moments and also lil bit of frustration..

Frustration cause the car simply doesnt hooks or grabs good traction. Good moments cause the car improved a lot in the trap speed and is still untunned ,so positivelly thinking, a good tunning should make it even improve more.

I could only hook a best of 2.46 in the 60 ft but still manage to trap 102 mph..There was a run where i missed third gear and still trapped 100mph so calculating i should've hit 104mph +/- in that run..

Where does that puts me in the 1/4?(BTW i ran 14.4 @102mph with 2.46 in the 60ft)

How can i make the car hook? 1st and 2nd gear the tires just look like they have butter on them. I have LSD and my goal is to at least run a 12.9 in street tires...then put the slicks on.

you need to work on bringing your 60ft down. How is your suspension setup and what tires are you using. A good set of DR radials will help as well as good suspension setup.

</TD></TR></TABLE>what he said, will work best. i'm running all motor with a crx that weights in at 2360lbs with me in it, my best time is 13.1@102 with BFG drag radials. the best 60 on the tires is a 1.9, and i'm making a little over 200 to the wheels. get good tires, and go out there and practice, your car is capable of running low 13's to high 12's

Well i have street tires(180 treadwear) and coilovers(cheap)..Im am going to change the Coil overs for a set of H&R springs.. The tires where at 18PSI.

when i was N/A i could hook 2.21 with these tires and w/o LSD... now with LSD and the turbo they dont hook ish... I just get mad wheel spin.

Are you getting a lot of wheel hop? Do you have traction bars or motor mounts? I would start with some better tires. Also what are you launching at and are you just droping the clutch or feathering it?

i can't remember if i had lasd or not, but with flken azenis 14" tires. i would cut a 2.0 60' time, but it took some baby in out the hole.

No wheel hop at all..Only one run i had a lil of hop wheni tried launching at 4.5-5k..

I kept launching between 3000 and 3800 just keeping the needle up and dpwn betwenn that area..you know..broom broom brooom ...not keeking it steady. I was feathering a lil..if i dropped the clutch it would just ridiculously kept there at the line burning out.

No traction bars, Poly urethane motor inserts

upgrade to a set of traction bars and set of drag radials lauch up higher and preload the clutch dont worry about cutting a good light at first just try to get your 60 ft times down.by working on the launch by controling the spinnning but dont bog it
