i have an 89 crx si with the b16a in it. i need to get a new coolant temp. sensor and for future advice, i need to know what i say to the parts specialist at the parts store when i need parts for the b16a swap.

 

Tell him (depending on the part) that you need the particular part for either a 99-00 civic si...or from a del sol dohc vtec...remember this depends on the part....good luck!

 

Take your sensor in and ask to see a 99-00 civic coolant temp sensor, i would imagine it would be similar.

 

can i get that sensor from advanced or do i need to go to a dealership

90-91 teg works too for coolant temp. its the same for the different b blocks.

if your unsure remove the old one and bring it with you.

they have it at autozone, autobarn, pep boys etc. dunno about advance, none have opened near me yet. when they do ill check them out.

remember the fan switch is on the back of the block, the one in the front just tells the ecu and cluster how hot the car engine is.
