I have a head sitting here that has a p13 HF-1 casting on it and I am trying to figure out what it belongs to, is it a H22a head? the reason I am asking is because it has the USDM black valve cover on it and not the red JDM one.

the jdm h22a's dont come with a red valve cover they come with a black one too
the type-s h22 comes with a blue valve cover and the euro-r h22 comes with the red one

actually, the f20b's and (rare) h23vtec motors were the only ones with the blue valve covers...the red valve covers came on both the accord type r (from europe), the accord euro r (from japan) and the prelude type s (from japan) also had a red valve cover...

but, the head you are referring to is definitely an h22...

 

I know its an h22 head but is it an h22a? or is it one of the USDM heads.

yeah is a 92-96 jdm h22a black top for sure that the one i have rite now tho
