Axle bolt not moving
2 weeks ago i took out my zc motor. How i did it? I didn't even take out the axle bolt on the two front. All i did was unbolt the tranny and unloosen all the motor mounts and took the motor out from below then later on, I climb in the egine bay and disconnect the axle from where it touches the tranny. So i never losten the axle bolt to where the rotors connects at. So now my new engine arrive and i'm wondering how will i unbolt the axle bolt at the rotor end? I only did it this way because at first, one of the bolt didn't wanna losen. Tried using air gun and it still didnt come off. Not sure what to do now.
If an impact didn't work, you're gonna need to find a long pipe to use as a breaker bar. Since you are gonna need some leverage and a way to prevent the axle from rotating, I would bolt a wheel back on, drop the car down on the wheels, then try breaking the axle nut. Hopefully you can stick the socket through the rim in the center, if not, pop out the center cap if you have one. Be sure to pull the e-brake too. Hopefully this will do the trick. Depending how tight the nut is, you may need to jump on the bar. Just be careful.
Damn that's a long piece of metal stick. lol what' it called? The " magic stick "
I'll try what you said. thanks for the info
Getting tired of the ef! always seems to be fixing it.

Be careful, I used the same technique on my buddy's CRX and I broke two breaker bars, the first time it snapped and hit me directly in the knee. I never had it checked but now it's definitely acting up. It's a good technique, just make sure your legs are out of harms way if something decides to break. LOL!
be sure to lift the notch on the axle nut.
also, on Older cars sometime it works if you get a torch and apply a little heat to it. (metal expands, theory).
Good luck.
Also, if you see that the hubs move as you try to turn the axle nuts. Put a screw driver in the rotor slots to lock them in place. This helps out alot.
I am an EF guy (so I know all the tricks in the book)

yeah (205lbs) standing on my breaker bar didnt lose my passenger side axle when i was doing my motor swap. took a torch to it for about 30 seconds all around the nut. i didnt even need the bar after...just loosened with a quick kick.
have you used a screw driver to "undent" the axle nut. when it is installed properly you are supposed to crush it so that might be causing it to stick. just bend it back to normal get a breaker bar and go at it.
i put a screw driver in the rotor slot, braced it against the caliper
put it in 5th let the clutch out
had abuddy push the brakes
used a 4-5 foot cheater pipe
took about 5 minutes but it came off
didnt have a torch but im sure i could have tried that too

I tried all that mentioned from you guys. I even got a long metal socket wrench but not as long as the one in the picture, but half that size and i jumped on it but it didnt' losen. I then turn the air compressor up to 150 PSI and torque it but wouldn't losen. I then drop the took the jacks off, and put the tires back on and let it hit the ground and tried it that way. still didnt' losen. I'm gonna try the flame thing tomorrow and if that doesn't go too well. I'm not sure it will ever come off. Let's just say, if it didn't come off, what else is there to do? beside replacing the whole driver side of that part?
I would try using some penetrating lube like PB Blaster. Spray the axle nut and let it sit for awhile than take the floor jack pipe and a 1/2 in. drive ratchet and jump on it. Even get 2 people on the pipe if you can. If you happen to break the ratchet and its craftsmen bring it back to the store and get another one (lifetime warranty). Also like everyone else said make sure the nut isn't dented in. If nothing else works than try the flame technique.
I couldn't get a hold of a mini torque flame thing.. so i hook up the flame thrower to a huge propane tank and went from there. let u know the results later.
Flame Thrower?? what are you, in the circus or something>? j/k
anyways, if thats you in your avatar, I would be more than happy to go over and loosen the axle nut for a kissy... J/k
