salvage title s2000 value?
whats up fellas, i took a look at an salvage title s2k w/ 36k on the motor, it was an 01 with a salvage title due to theft, the items were all replaced with 2002 s2000 parts include : seats, softtop/glass, door panels w/ tweeders, shiftknob, headlamps. and tailamps. i asked his asking price at it was at 14k. the paint looks clean the the engine ran smooth i suppose. im just wondering if the value is worth the title. such as if i want to get rid of the car for any reason.
cliff notes : 01 s2k with 02 s2k parts, worth 14k?

if everything has been replaced that does not sound to bad......
the question is......
do you want the burden of trying to sell the car later on down the road w/ that salvage title?
edit: with a little more money, you should be able to find a clean titled s2k 00-01 model w/ close to that mileage

if you plan on selling it later, do not buy this. you will have trouble selling it down the line. spend a lil more and get a clean title. now if you plan on keeping this car forever or as a track car, then go ahead
the engine ran smooth, you suppose? If you have ANY doubts about it at all, you need to reconsider. Buying a vehicle is one of life's major lessons.
Listen to Nishant. If you think you just want to toy around with this car for a bit then sell it, don't buy a salvaged title s2k, get a clean titled car. Save the salvaged ones for die hard racecars.

thanks for the help
i think i'll pass on this one. i came across this one while looking at an rsx and the owner of the shop told me about his s2k. im going into my senior year in college and i could use a car that would be easy for me to unload if i run into money trouble....or sent to jail j/k

s2k is fun to have, but it's only great if you have another DD. you are going to be screwed when you need to move something and all u have is your s2k. you can kind of go snowboarding, but it wouldnt fun driving in your car with a snowboard..you would need the top down and it would be cold as hell.
17-18k should get you an ap1.

Not everyone needs a truck or SUV. An S2K makes a great DD for the average person that doesn't haul very much around with them.

thanks for all the help fellas, i dont carry much as it is. my 96 civic has no rear seats/interior its so its like a big trunk. all i really haul around is my gf or my rommie to/from class and maybe my hockey bag/stick or a set of golf clubs. has anyone here had experience trying to sell a salvage title car before? or trade one?
