Info on a 91 dx hatch
Hi, I am looking into purchasing a 91 dx hatch. A few questions i have are because the "dealer" (he actually sells mobile homes but has a few old cars for sale)says that the car wont run without shutting off when the gas is below 1/4 of a tank.I am assuming the fuel pump is going bad? And the clutch engages at the very very top of the pedal.Does that mean the clutch is going or what? And how expensive are fuel pumps? Thanks.
Sounds like there could be dirty fuel injectors or maybe the guage is incorect. Fuel pumps should last a lifetime (at least Honda designed them that way). The clutch probably just needs adjusting.
The clutch cable is located right in the front of the tranny. There is an adjustment nut that you can turn to adjust the grab of the clutch. Depending on the mileage of the car, the clutch may very well be worn out.
Your gauge could be bad or your fuel sending unit. Both are pretty cheap. Take out the fuel sending unit and move it by hand slowly. The gauge should not jump sparaticlly. If it does then the Fuel Sending Unit is bad.
