I am about to purchase a 00 gsr motor from import auto salvage. I was a little wordered about the immobilzer, and randy told me that he would trade me a 99 si ecu for the 00 gsr ecu. Now my consern is the secondary butterfly. What should i do. Trade him for the si ecu or get the gsr ecu and take it to honda to get the key reprogramed? What is the easy thing to do?

can i relocate the ingintion switch for the gsr and just place somewhere else on my dash so i do have to reprogram the key and ecu b/c of the immobilizer??

IF you have the right paper work I believe the dealer can remove the imoblizer, not sure though

 

well all the paper work should be legit.

 

keep the grs ecu

 

take it to the dealer with the paper work and they should be able to help you although they may not know they can

 

Wel Randy @ IAS told me he would send me the ingintion from the teg and i could just swap out my civic ingintion for the tegs, he has wiring schematics that he will send and said that the whole swap should take about 1/2 day(i hope). SO i will be able to have the extra security of the IMM.
