Whats the differenceL: 90 Civic STD/DX Engines?
so far all i can find is that its just the head. if this is so can i just change the head for one from a DX and gain those extra 20hp to the flywheel? Also if it is so can i use a newer head like from a 92+? And would i have to use the timing belt from the new head or can i keep the old one?
Also are the STD and DX ecu the same?

The difference between these engines is the cam- plain and simple. STD cam is the shittiest cam you will find in any car. It makes its peak power in the low end which is good for fuel economy and to get around town. Hey, just look at the specs, look at where they make their power at. That alone generally gives you a pretty good idea about the cam.
The DX cam makes slightly higher rpm power, like the si, but still has lower lift and still is a lil bit of an economy cam compared to the Si. You will see the most gains with an Si cam or even better with a ZC cam, but you have to use an adj cam gear as you will be off a tooth or something like that.

slow and slower....
as said before its that cam and yea lil restrictor in it i took it out and it added .01 mental horse power it really didn't do anything at all good or bad.
