EG 2 door - brake noises
okay...started up my car this morning to go to work, start backing up its making a loud rubbing noise coming from the back brakes. then i start to go down the road, and the back brakes now make a high pitched squeak. im pretty sure its the brakes but what can i do to fix this, and about how much is it gonna cost. but first what is it? anything helps. peace.

probably just the rear brake shoes that is if you have drums wich you should. if you get new shoes from the dealership it will be $50-60 bucks you can probably get them cheaper at an auto parts store but not as good quality. also check your drums and every thing else its not too hard to take it apart to look at it and see whats wrong.
are your pads new or used? could be the top caliper bolt rusting/ or rusted, when it gets water in it, u arent able to pull the caliper off the rotor, and it kinda puts pressure on the pad, and rubs against the rotor.
can u jack up your rear end and take off the rear wheels and take a look? see if anyting is rubing?

its a little metal tab that will rub when your brake pads are low. in my experience, it usually starts making noise in reverse before you can hear it well while driving forward.

Replace your pads ASAP my friend let his rear pads go to crap on his ae86 and we came around to change it the rotor was shaved down about 1/4 inch where the pad first ran out. ack it was funny. But seriously go change your pads its not hard to do and do it before you brake something else.
keep in mind that rear calipers do need to be adjusted too just like rear drums...they could get out of adjustment after using the Ebrake soo much too...adjusting the rears yourself shouldn't be that hard and use the 50-60 bucks towards the new pads
