im guessing this seal sits in that little lip on the intermediate shaft correct? i really hope this is the problem. how hard is it to replace that seal? also do u think its safe to drive it without full tranny oil?

It's not hard to replace the seal. You gotta pull the axle and intermediate shaft out. I don't suggest you drive for very long before replacing the seal. Use your best judgement. How much has leaked out?

even if the seal is in there, it still might be bad. look for cracks in the rubber. the spring popped out of mine, and it still looked good, but leaked. a few bucks at the dealer, and took only a few minutes to install.

my motor didnt come with the intermediate shaft, i had to buy new..... so the seal does go into that lip? cuz there definitly wasnt one in there when i slid it into place. if this is true, that explains y ALL my oil drained out of the tranny after like 10 min of driving. good thing i checked on everything after the maiden voyage....im picking up the seal tomarow, ill let u guys know what happens .thanks for all the help
