here's some useful info... PICS! Si and EX comparisons. just so you can easily distinguish, the Si knuckle shown does NOT have a dust shield.

here i tried to line up the two to compare the overall lengths. they look the same to me.



steering arms. they look the same to me too.


alright, heres the big difference, caliper mount spacing. the closest thing i had to a ruler, some graph paper. i think each square is 1/4". sorry for the dim pics, i was running out of sunlight....

if you count the squares from either the end of the casting or the center of the bolt hole, to the break in the casting, you can see the difference is about 1 square=1/4".

also, heres the EX caliper.



oh yeah, you should still get an alignment.

Good one.
Looks like the EX knuckles are different than the SiR/VT knuckles.
These also need the steering rod to be replaced in case of VT/SiR knuckles. (inch difference)

Tie rods are adjustable. Like adj strut bars, you can spin them and move them in and outwards. Wondering if that would be the answer.

Why would you need to do this anyways? does the hole (for tie rod end) sit further inside or outside or what?

NOBODY SAID THAT

he said for the SiR the steering is different. should be the same with EX, nothing else needed.

they accept 10.3 in brakes, instead of the 9.5in found on other ef's.

5lug=wider choice of stock rims. Like, oh lets say....... FD rx7 rims=really light, wide, 16in rims. I think there 16x8?7?

 

90-91 ex knuckles keep the stock suspension geometry with the different caliper mounting points. this allows you to use the larger factory brakes or even use the big brake kits without having alignment issues that come with using 92-up civic or teg knuckles.

seti, he's saying the wheels that are available in 5 lug are physically wider than those available for 4 lug.

pogi, he thinks you said theres more (wider) selection of 5 lug wheels, which generally isnt true for hondas.

Physicaly, AND selection wise. 5lug just isnt for looks, its for functionaty too.

big pimpin' - my mom's camry has 5lug

 

Maybe it's just me... but I noticed that most wheels are 4 lug. 5 lug is usually not in stock, or special order. So I'd say that the 5 lug selection is not wider than the 4 lug. Simple math... how many cars have 4, and how many cars have 5 lug..?

The advantages of a 5 lug wheel are also minimal.
