Default Need rotors for the EX 10 1/4" brakes...

I just want front slotted rotors and sloted rear discs for the CRX Si.

The EX brakes are the biguns... what do I order them for? I can get the CRX rotors later. I may be needing the fronts now.

Isn't it Accord wagon brakes or something?

If you want slotted rotors for your CRX Si you need to order them for your CRX Si.....

You can't just get EX rotors and expect it all to fit!

EX rotors are for EX knuckles.......

Sorry... I should have clarified. I have a '91 EX, and I have the '91 CRX Si rear discs brakes swapped in.

I should have caught that.

If you want to stay with 10.3" rotors order them for your '91 EX. We have them at work (Pep Boys) for like $16 each.

If you want to upgrade to 11", order '94 Prelude VTEC rotors, redrill the bolt pattern, and get a set of '94 Accord Wagon calipers. You have to mill 3mm off the caliper bracket, but after that it's all bolt on.

I'm sure they do their work fine for the price you pay for them.
But you can never compare them to good quality discs like brembo, alcon, APracing, Wilwood etc....

They don't compare because the ones you list are MO expensive. A rotor is a rotor. As long as it doesn't **** up, you're golden.

for Pep Boys' rotors

Idiot of the year award.
A rotor is a rotor, and a pad is a pad.

The fact that the composition is entirely different, does not matter at all.

According to you a tire is a tire, as long as it's round and black...right?

You're being a little harsh, SETI20.

You are right that they are made up of different materials, and the name-brand are probably better for aggressive driving with a tough pad.

But for a street car, a daily-driver, that sees no race track of any kind, you cannot tell me that Pep Boy rotors won't do the job.

Is that your position?

A Pep Boy rotor is bad for someone who doesn't abuse their brakes?

I won idiot of the year in '02. I'm not eligible anymore

Are you suggesting that Pep Boys' rotors warp more easily than others? Or that they don't dissipate heat as well? If you qualify what you're saying, nobody will come down on you.

My experiences with those rotors have been only positive......not so with other Pep Boys' products, but that's for another thread.

has any one notice that these days, rotors on new cars last for about 2 years? ...and after that you can't resurface them because they're so rusted on the inside that you need a replacement.
My for a certain rotor brand is not to hype the brand but the quality of the product. And incidentally it so happens that it gives to a company that sells them, should I not have +ve experience with the seller, I would not list it here.

I'll put it real simple.

99.9% of us are on honda-tech, because we lice the performance or our cars. Putting it simple... we all think we're Mario Andretti.

I strip down CRXes as a means of income. How do you think most CRXes come to their demise?
Precisely...they slammed into the back of another car, or into a pole or tree of some sorts.

Bad driving skills accompanied with poor brakes WILL on some point own your *** if you like to drive a little agressively.

If your pepboys rotors will stop you in the same distance as my brembo's do, I'll be the first to buy you a beer. It's a matter of safety. Simple as that.

I'm not trying to be harsh,...but some of the CRXes I've seen are gut wrenching.

You DO NOT want to cut corners on your brakes.
Have you ever driven a newer mercedes, audi or volkswagen? Try those brakes. Just for the fun of it.

We need to keep up with that!!!
Safety first people! Buy less JDM crap and spend it on a decent set of pads and discs.

i am friends with ken from racingbrake. so i must throw a blurb out there. their product is good. we used their race rotors on the track cars with pritty good results (road course). i personally use autozone/pepboys rotors on my stock brakes and im still using regular parts house rotors with my 11". for some cars, upgrading the rotor is a good theing. subaru rotors suck somehting horrible. the material is softer than any other rotor for some reason. so they wear faster and warp easier than others. so upgrading to the racingbrake rotors ont he sti's my friends were running at de's was a good thing.
for you, since your probably just street stunning, get any slotted rotor you want since your not going to notice a differance.
what brake pad are you using btw?
