It's gotta be a salvage or something. It just can't be...

Or, someone's going to get one h311 of a deal.

Maybe he looked up the blue book for a GSR with the same miles since Kelly Bluebook does not have a value for the ITR (at least not on their site) and is naive.

OT: but I also noticed that a few insurance companies do not list the ITR as a car for 1997 when getting online insurance quotes.

Aren't we lucky?

AA- who can't seriously cannot complain about his insurance considering his record.

Not only may you guys have a hard time because 97 ITR's are not listed, but when I was looking to change my insurance a while back there were some companies who refused to insure it period.

Aww, I fired an email off the second I saw this.. lol.

I was up for an adventure too.. all ready to hop in my car and drive there with $9000 of cash in hand.

Knew it was too good to be true though.. probably some scammer looking to ship it across country w/o actually meeting the buyer.

I called the number as well. They listed the number twice, once as contact information and once in the ad. Its unlikely someone made the same mistake twice, however the number listed is not a seller. I had a very long conversation with them, and I ask that no one else calls the number listed so to not bother these people. They have reported it to autotrader, as well as I.

this has become quite common as well as the refusal to let honda owners to buy their cars back after being stolen due to fraud.

I can't blame any insurance company for not wanting to insure an ITR... huge theft risk for them, especially in NJ.

Probably just screwing with someone.

It's like putting an ITR swap in the recycler for $500, but only between 1am-4am M-F.

If it does end up being a legitimate sale (sans the mistaken phone number) the seller probably thinks it's an RS. But being that there were no 01 RS's, it kind of blows that idea completely out of the water.
