Default tranny issue

the setup is a 91 ef hatch with jdm b16 and tranny...i have a hell of time getting it into fourth gear...it just wont go in...i will have the clutch pedal fully depressed and try to put it in and it will just grind and not go in about two thirds of the time...i dont have that problem with any of the other gears...so i dont think that it is the clutch...would the cut and weld shift linkage have anything to do with it...do i just need to rebuild it..or does it need to be replaced???

carl!! i love the avatar. i'd try to replace the linkage first. if not then might be time for a rebuild.

the problem is i wasnt the one who swapped the car..so i dont know what type of mounts he used...i guess that would be pretty important..ill try to find out and get back to you.
