Wondering if ther was anything on the market that could display Engine vitals, rpm, speed, temp, ect. Onto incar/ indash tv or dvd player. Want to know if i can make use of this other that watching dvds...
Chances are that theres nothing like that on the market now... it's too specialized...
You could probobly put a PC in your car and run that to the TV then get a program that would do engine stats... but again it's pretty specialized so you'd either have to do it yourself or get someone to code it for you.
Unless you have a engine manegment computer like AEM or Hondata... then you could just use their interface in the car... But I don't know what kind of displays they have.. probobly more function than form.

I like that one instead. Check out ECU Control and FreeLog on http://www.pgmfi.org for what you're looking for. They have "virtual dash boards" that logs from the ecu and displays on gauges. It's your call on how to make it into a dedicated screen, but the software exists, and it's free.

So Hondata and Aem are already equipped w/such input for a tv? Or by "their interface" meaning there own whole system? Not full understanding this.

B20TDC2 is on the right track....Th HKS Camp system is pretty good, but I think there is a little bit of mucking around to get it to work...
The new Gameboy Advandce can be used for the same purpose.
Check out http://www.mp3car.com those guys are into a lot of this sort of stuff.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.

So if I am not mistaken the hks camp will have a/v jacks to display on my touch screen indash? Or is it more difficult beside the connection to the car?
Im not too sure dude, assuming it would. It would also have sensors to be hooked up to. Im watching a dvd right now where they have a Toyota Cresida using the system. Keeping in mind that this is at HKS Kansai, Western Japans biggest HKS dealer lol.
I have to stop posting now man, I only get like 5 a day or something lol
Just go read up on mp3car.com, LOST of info there...

its actually pretty simple, in the above link go to their store and check out the car computers.then you can get a touch screen or whateva toys you like..

after that all you need is a TTL to RS conversion board or use the usb method in order for the ecu to be able to communicate with the pc.
Then you need a prog. to put sense into the data like drdisco69 sayd
hardware and software found at...pgmfi

No... what I was saying is you could hook up a PC in your car with their software on it and a hardware TV card so you could out put it to the TV... unless the TV has a monitor in.
But it looks like the HKS deal would be better for what you're looking for.
