Looked around on the net a little and didn't really see any reviews. You always can go by price on how well things will preform. (Most of the time.) But if your buying a radio soley on its illumination then im assuming whose ever standards will be lower then say a nice kenwood deck.

The VDO site specificlaly says orange illumination. Kenwood used to have a perfect match, but has since changed to red or green. I personally have a kenwood deck in my car now and had the same model Kenwood in my old car.

Where can you find an auxillary input converter? I want to hook-up the Ipod to the wife's Accord.

Any car stereo shop should be able to get it. Someone posted a link to an internet site that carried them for $70 or so (I think). The car stereo shop I was at wanted $120, just for the part.
And I agree, iPod > any deck. Can't wait to hook mine up.

Depends how you want the quality to be...Some cd players have "hacks" that allow you to use the cd changer input as an AUX input. Some headunits come stock with AUX inputs already...I think AWIA all come standard with AUX inputs. Last option is to get an FM modulator, this goes in between the antenna and headunit. So you just set the radio to a certain station. (Note FM radio doesn't have as wide as a spectrum as CDs so your music will sound like radio.)

Mine sounds good to me. It's not going to sound like a Harmon-Kardon set up, but who cares? It's an ITR, not a BMW.

Its all in what your used to. Ive talked to people who have subs that drove in my car and there like how can you listen to music. Its easy I do it everyday. I used to have subs well actually mulitiple times and everytime I would love them and after so long I would just get used to it. In my last GSR I ran the stock headunit.
I keep telling people that last year Clarion made 2 very nice cd mp3 players, one of which even has a built in HD. Both of these have the ability to change to 100 colors and match the ITR lighting perfectly. Also the one I have has dual 24-bit DAC's for good sound quality (similar to what Nakamichi makes). You can still find them on ebay and in fact I might pick one up so I have a spare if mine ever dies!
It is a very nice and affordable deck, and I love that it matches my gauges and still plays MP3's.
Here are the links and a pic of one of them

and also the one with the HD

*Edit: sorry i guess its only 80 different colors

auxiliary input adapters can be had for like $50 if you shop around. i have a 2004 s2000 head unit which uses a different style input than the older honda radios...i think it sounds just fine when you run an ipod through it.

so what, just because we're driving ITR's we can't be into stereo's that sound good as well? I'm sorry but on long distance trips, or being stuck in traffic, having a good set of tunes is nice. No, it doesn't sound as good as the engine, but EVERYTHING gets boring if you listen it to enough.

I said, "The STOCK STEREO SOUNDS GOOD ENOUGH!" Quit bitching just because your stereo sucks compared to blah blah deck and bligity blah speakers and amps, blah blah blah. WTF cares? I'll say again, if you're looking for pure stereo sound quality, get an MB or the likes.
BTW, I do have a 10" sub with the stock stereo and speakers(which I don't even have turned up most of the time). Not one complaint from me.

who said i was bitching because i didn't like my headunit?? i have an Alpine with boston components and an RF power sub and RF power amp.
and yes, the stock headunit does suck. it's internal amp is weak, and easily distorted, the cd player skips too easily, the FM band isn't very sensitive, and the overall quality of the unit, along with it's features aren't up to par with even entry level aftermarket units.
you said the stock headunit didn't sound good enough for you. we disagree, to US it doesn't sound "good enough" you also asked who cares, obviously we do. you have your right to your opinion, and we have a right to ours. who are you to say that we're wrong?? no one here is saying you are.
oh and an FYI, the benz stock stereo's are just slightly better than a hondas. but i still don't see why your trying to connect sound quality with the price or quality of the vehicle. does one have to own a sports car to enjoy performance? OBVIOUSLY not because we all own integras.
