Brakleen, is a particular brand of brake cleaner... Available at most auto parts stores.

I think most any brand will work (???)

I always just use strong solvents, (MEK, lacquer thinner, etc.) but brake cleaner would work fine, too (IMO).

If the disc is soaked in oil/grease/whatever, it might make more sense to get a new one, because the oils will leach out forever, and form slippery carbon deposits if you don't get them out. The PP and flywheel are easy to clean so they aren't a problem, but the disc being porous, sucks up a lot more of that stuff, and embeds in it the lining.

Good luck.

Thank you for this information. The disc is actually not soaked or very very dirty at all, it just has some noticable things i'd like to clean off of it before I install it, well I guess now it's just time to work, thanks guys.
