Default **5 inch drop**

Well, I lowered my 95 Integra 5" last night........with a RS lip kit all the way around. Needless to say, I'm ******* LOW!!! I can put 2 fingers under the front end. And I'm almost tucking the WHEEL of 17's. I'm on generic coilovers, but we removed the coilover structure, so its only the springs, giving us that extra inch.

Yes, I know it is a stupid drop, but basically I was just curious as to how it would look. And it looks amazing, ******* incredible. However, of course my ride has gone to ****, bouncing all over the place(even though I'm on AGX's)

So, here's my question.......I'm not going to ride like this for long, but I am enjoying the new stance for the moment. How much damage and how quickly am I going to hurt my shocks? Don't worry about the rest, I have been driving lowered cars for years, I know what I can and can't go over/up, etc...Also, is there anything I can do for my front fenders to help my turning radius, it takes me 3 tries to turn around in a cul-de-sac(sp?). My rears aren't rubbing at all though

Any help would be appreciated...and like I said, I know it's a dumb drop, just having fun for a moment, makes for a great photo-shoot

having a rediculous drop like that with or without a camber kit (because with 5" there's no way you can fix the negative camber) it puts tons of stress on the wheel bearings. soon, they'll start grinding and it costs lots to fix.

i just got both of my front wheels fixed for like $500 cdn from honda. i was at about 2.5" with no camber kit. i'm going back up to 1-1.5" without a camber kit just to save my bearings.

OH and i don't think kyb will honour the waranty with a 5" drop. there's basically no shock travel whatsoever... and how the hell did you get 5" ...that sounds like a pretty steep number, i don't know if 5" can be done can it?

post up some pics!

the 5" was achieved by........coilovers that has a max 4"drop capability, but we removed the coilover "tower"and the "seats"...thus allowing the spring to actually seat an inch lower than the coilover's max(4") would have been.

I do have a camber kit all the way around....but you're right, it does no good at this height.

Again, I'm only gonna ride like this for about a week.

Pics, I don't have a digi, however I can take some on my cell(T-mobile) and send them to someone if they have the ability to upload pics from there phone....unfortunately I can't with my phone. EJ1, you're in Portland, do you have a digi?

If you extend your shock travel (like we talked about in the other thread), your gonna need to cut holes in your shock towers. The UCAs are gonna start making their way into your engine bay by themself otherwise...

hahaha....... I don't think my brain can handle more than a week. I mean, I've ridden on chopped springs before, but DAMN!!!! I forgot how terrible that ride is.

I will see what I can do about pics.....I wanna see if anyone's got me beat on a daily driver

yeah, I read the thread you linked me too, but I just don't have the neccessary tools and such... I'm just gonna have my fun for a few days and then put the actual coilover structure back into place and raise her back up

Thanks for the help though

My Crx is dropped close to 5" with H&R ULtra Low coilovers !!! man.. I will tell you that it is not fun at all !! The steering wheel shakes at higher speeds, and I'm afraid of bottoming out my car ... luckily nothing has happened yet.. at this height, daily driving is a challenge (and paranoia) !! I went with lower profile tire (1 size smaller than stock) so I can turn my wheel without any rubbing...
I think my wheel bearing are gone too.. lotsa squeeking + rattling....

Its all worth it though, knowing you are the lowest car around...hehehe

You might as well take your springs out because your riding on the bumpstops anyway.
