Can I get your opinon EG or EK
Hello, i didnt really know where to post this. So sorry if its in the wrong place. I just bought an ek hatch of my dad and it has abot 36k mile on it. (completely stock) But I already have an eg that I have done quit a bit of work to. I dont know now what one I wanna focus on cause I bought the ek as a good gas car but I soon found out I couldnt leave it be. I know you might think "do both," but I dont have enough money to keep spending on both. I will keep the eg if I start on the ek, but what I guess im trying to ask you guys is. If you could choose between an eg or an ek to use as your new project car what one would you choose? For some reason I just cant make up my mind
This is really up to you. The EK is bigger and nicer, but heavier. It really depends on how much you have done to your EG. If you can swap it over to the EK, then maybe you want to do that. Personally, if I am doing a hatch, I stick to the EG, since it has the minimal comforts and looks and the weight is minute. The EK looks newer, is more comfortable, but it looses that hatch appeal because of the weight.
Ya I can swap over almost everything, but the motor(cause it obd1). All I have is a ls engine in the eg with nothing that fancey thats bolt on. Every bolt on part I have I can use on the ek ( if i swaped to a b-series)

I have had both. I sold my ek last year, then got an eg in feb. I like em both. I orginally was looking for an eg last year, but came accros the ek. I miss my ek cause it was really clean looking, but personally i think i like the look of the egs better. Also like stated previously they are smaller at least they look like they are. But its whatever floats your boat, but i say stay with the eg.

ya i dont know its a hard toss up for me. I like the ek cause like folks said its a newer and nicer car with more upgrades then my eg. In both cases the cars are clean *** hell just the ek is stock. Damn i dont know. What would you guys say about engine swaps between the two. I dropped a few engines in my eg and I ran into normal problems, but is it alot more difficult to swap in a motor to an ek (If or when I drop a motor in i'll stick to an obd2 though) like I said its a real hard choice for me. Can anyone tell me the ups and downs of both cars?

I think that alone would make my mind up to keep the EG!!
What do you want the car for? a daily driver? one that will see the track? ask yourself some of that stuff and then decide. worse case scenario: after you fix one up you don't like it and sell it for the other and start fresh!!
and you can go from OBD1--->OBD2.

I would keep the eg if I started on the ek project. But this is what Im going to do after all your guy's input. Im going to garage the eg and keep her just for the weekends. Im going to drive the ek as a gas saver car (for going to work), and just make the ek a looker ( lower it, spoon rims, spoon mirrors, and spoiler) untill I get enough money to drop in a motor and start doing some real mods to the car.
