Default How to make speed on a 95 hatch?

Ok so I am new to this whole civic and import tuning deal. I have a 944 with manifold back exhast and suspension etc...Anyway I just bought a civic. The guy who had it before me put on a body kit and KYB's with 300lb neuspeed springs and 17in zeigen wheels , however the car is bone stock as far as the engine goes. I want the car to be at least as fast as the porsche. I don't want a turbo or nos, all motor here is what I am going for. Whats the best way to get more power. I am either thinking headers, intake, exhaust or by a used japanese VTEC, cost is a big issue here, anythoughts. I am looking for at least 120hp. BTW what is the modle name for a 95 hatch with the 1.5 liter SOHC?

that little D 16 sohc has about 106hp on a real good day..with normal bolt ons i might be able to scratch out 120hp but not likely..there s always a swap for a B16 that ll get u about 160 and then there s always supercharging ..a JRSC

Go for a motor swap if you really want to get your money's worth.

hey, welcome to the scene. I think you'll find with a little research, that swaps will get you the best bang for the buck. Especially since you don't want to go FI or NO2.

The model you have sounds like a CX. Power can be made with SOHC's, even without FI (look at Bisi Ezerioha). But you'll spend alot more money than a basic motor swap.

IMO a B18C with basic bolt-ons will get you moving. As far as keeping up with the 944... I dunno. Is it an S4? Turbo? You might need a swap and a turbo to keep up with the Porsche.

doing a swap is the best of both worlds you get more power and also you in a sence get a new car with out that many miles on it. a 1.5 liter sohc is a dx
