matt patrick is the fastest in the country he went 10.35 @148 but it only weighs 2250 so he cant race NHRA

Sean Devine (from Canada) runs/ran a SOHC "D" for a long time. I've seen it. he's run mid 10's

Marc from ETD Racing will be campaigning a "D" this year....

Ive actually seen a guy run 11.99 back to back on a single back in 95. It was a eg squeezing like a 200 shot. But it was all stock, not to mention the guy pulled everything out of that car.

Sean's best is 10.22 IIRC.

I believe it was Jason Whitfield back in the day. Don't remember exact times though.

 

zexman has also run some fast times with the sohc
and bisi, but he forgot his turbo at home.

Actually Jason Whitfield holds the record... He has gone a 10.34, i don't recall the trap speed. Jason has the fastest ET and Matt has the fastest trap speed. i recall that sean did run that time but has yet to back it up. As far as STOCK BLOCK, my best to date is a 11.2@125 on a stock sleeve SOHC....only rods and pistons.

 

Sean runs stock sleeves with an old STR block guard IIRC. I think he did go 10.30, so I think he did back it up...

Well, I think I still hold the MPH record, but I parted out the car and sold everything......so it no longer exists. It will be interesting to see some of the fast d-series cars running this year.

any body ever ran 11's stock sohc block?</TD></TR></TABLE> I ran 10.86 on my stock block with LS rods and SRP pistons, but the time was disputed . Something funky with the clocks. But I ran several 11.00's to back it up.

 

hey what's up SOHCboost i'm in Albemarle, NC allthough it says Lansing, Mi. where i used to live. i have a 93 coupe still has the stock dx motor in it d15b7 and i have the greddy non-intercooler kit on it now with 5.5 psi and ran a 14.5 @96mph i know it's not the fastest sohc but thought i'd post.

Its True... Sean's car is built on a budget and he has done remarkable things considering. He went 10s on a stock ECU, with FMU and extra injectors. He machines a plate to go between the IM and Head to hold 4 more injectors.

 

I am trying to dig up some old footage... I Know for a fact I have it somewhere. PLUS he made the majority of these passes on really really really really shitty tracks in Canada. hey Marc, didn't Sean post a personal best against a white EG once?

 

damn I need to learn how to drive better. My times suck.

 

cody anderson shoud be doin pretty good this year he just ordered his lsd and is takin his stock head to 8500, his car goes, that is when he hasnt broken a trans or axle!
