Default code 72 and 41 on jdm gsr in 96 hatch

search gave me nothing.

I know code 72 has something to do with cylinder 2 not firing, and 41 is something to do with 02sensor heat wire I think. Can anyone tell me for sure.

Symptoms are car is slower, kinda sputters at idle, and my mph do not read at all. The cylinder 2 spark plug just looks worn with some white ash on it.

Anyone have some help they can throw my way?

Thx

Code 41 is for the O2 heater element. Grab a multimeter and measure its resistance between the two black wires (unplug the O2 from the main engine harness).

Code 72 is for a misfire in cylinder 2.

When was the last time you did a tune-up including cap/rotor/wires/plugs?

I never have on this motor. I hve had this motor for 1 and1/2yrs now.

I just grabbed some plugs, guess it couldn't hurt to go get some wires and a distributor cap. But when you say rotor, the only rotor I am familiar with is my brake rotor.

can you explain the rotor a little more as to what and where it is. Thx alot for the help

So...have you measured the O2 heater resistance?

Have you done a tune-up yet?

I am waiting on a set of NGKs to come in that I ordered and now that I know what the rotor is dizzy rotor is I will be picking one up today.

As for the 02 sensor I know how to change one, but I don't know how I would measure the resistence.

I ran into this problem last night after I took off early to work on the car. https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1240970
