Default Chassis Fabrication, etc...

Could anyone give me any links to sites with real info on chassis fab. Free stuff first then if you also know of good, available books I could buy on the subject matter I would also appreciate it. I'm very interested in making my own cart type vehicle just for play. The first one I plan on making will have solid axles, as suspension geometry is something I'm not yet comfortable in desgining. Anyone with past experience and tips, I also welcome your responses!

Thanks in advance

that is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you for the link, I searched amazon for a while and never came across that. I'm also going to purchase a used edition of this book that is out of print "Racing and Sports Car Chassis Design" Its supposed to be very good.

If you could take a weekend or night class at a local college for welding that would help you out a whole bunch. Our school had a nondestructive testing lab so we could weld something up and then do radiographic and magnetic particle testing to it. We also were able to do bend tests and some other destructive stuff too.

No better way to learn imo. If you teach yourself there's always a chance of learning something the wrong way, and it's hard to break a bad habit.

Plus nothing can up your confidence more than knowing your welds are structurally sound.
