Default valve adjustment for b16

are there any other ghetto way doing a vavle adjustment other then benting a wrench or buying hte special tool

i was thinking of using a deep socket and wraping the top with electical tape. then use a vice grip to hold the socket with a flat head in the socket. anyone think that will work??
