I bought a 1990 si hatch shell with a blown ls motor and put in another ls motor. i just got it on the road for the first time and my speedometer doesn't work. my check engine light isn't on but my ecu is still flashing a code 17. it's a 90-91 pr4 ecu and a 90-91 ls trans. can anyone help me out?

 

Ok there should be a cable that runs from the top of the transmission to the rear of the cluster in the dash. Make sure it is plugged in at both ends. This cable mechanically measures speed and transfers it to cluster which then sends a signal to the ecu.

 

I know that one end of the cable is clipped into the top of the trans. i'll check the cluster tomorrow after school. thanks for the help.
