what am I looking at?
I see some spots, I take it its a bad thing?

teach me cause I'm opening my valve cover in the morning to do the valve adjustment...

 

jeah, I woke up early to get this done before I drove down to Temecula. This was on the exhaust cam of #3 cylinder

 

Hmm...From what I recall, you're using the entire stock valvetrain/cams, right? How did you discover this?

Best of luck with the repairs - on the bright side, it seems like a good time for some bigger bumpsticks.

dude, looks like it's on the base circle to me... is that rust? can't tell from the pic. clean it up with a little scotch brite and you're gtg.

edit - looked at it again, can't tell if that is on the lobe itself, or the base circle of the cam. more info.

I have no idea what happened or what's wrong w/ them. I ran my finger across it and could't feel any extra wear there. After seeing this and getting disgusted, I went out for a couple of hours and came back and finished up the valve adj. Maybe that's why my car was making the pinging like noise?

The #3 cylinder was at TDC, so this is what I saw when I attempted to adj the valves.

Did that umbrella come with the CF hood?

Ohhh, well I hope you have luck and find out that those spot mean nothing... and that the ping soung hopefully just came from bad gas (had a bean burrito )

But if anyone else knows whats the problem is here, pls tell all of us so we could be as smart as you!

 

When did you get a header? What kind?

Hmm... I dunno what that is on the cam... can't tell from pic... I wouldn't worry baout it.

is that the jdm center console between the seats? if so how do you like having it in there instead of the arm rest one?

yes, i do know NOT to use this at the track w/o a bar or cage. the stock belts are still in there for now

yshi - who will only use this at the autox for now.
