Maybe we have a legitimate contender to F1 that is a good old yankee imperialist dog!! He looks like he is doing great and the fact that the races are at the F1 venues on race weekend can't hurt the exposure either.

Problem is, he's not going to have a contenting F1 car with Red Bull...

have to start somewhere! no one is a top runner first year, he seems to have amazing potential though.

Agreed. just pointing out that being in F1 is not a guarantee that he'll be a legitimate contender.
Maybe he can find his way to Honda somewhere down the road and tell Red Bull off...

Oh I didn't mean legitmate contender for the F1 championship if he gets a ride next year. Nooo. I just meant hopefully the talent and now the exposure to get in the "show" and show his stuff. I mean look who all has gone through the ranks of Minardi before going on to better teams.

Of course, with Red Bull running Ferrari engines next year, it could open a back door for him to get in as Schumacher's replacement.
Man, an American named Speed driving a Ferrari F1 car, could you imagine the exposure the sport would get from that?

Good point about red bull/ferrari.
That would be very good for F1 coverage/exposure in the US.
But damn... I don't know if I could root for him driving a Ferrari. Ever.

I'm sure we'll see at least one of these guys in F1 very soon and it wouldn't be surprising at all if they both make it.
