Mixed results, man...
it's all a matter of tuning. I'm sure this topic has been covered before.

The only solid experience I have with them is on my friend's B18C5.

He made 184/134 with Toda Spec A's. He put the Skunk stage 1 in the motor and his peak numbers were 188/137 after tuning.. but the Spec A cams made more midrange from 4500-7500.. then the Skunks pissed on the A's for a good 5-6hp.
Peak HP came in at a higher rpm with the Skunks as well (8400, compared to 8100 w/ the Todas)

I'm sure more tuning and the midrange would come back.. but I think for what it's worth, there are other cams out there that are better.

I'm still curious about the Skunk stage 2 cams.. anyone w/ experience? I know ImportReview was gonna do something, but I just got back for vacation and I haven't seen anything.

<cough> jdm bandwagon <cough>

The Skunks stage 2 and 3 are supposed to be pretty bas azz, but they JUST came out, so not many people have real results yet.

indeed. one would imagine cam profiles evolves for the better. the spoon profile's been out for years and years, toda a/b/c's and JUN's are a few years old. you can betskunk2 looked at all the available profiles before finalizing their profile.

of course, i'm a skunk2 dealer and i run skunk2 cams (with good results) so considered me biased (though I think i'm as open as anyone, just look at the crazy mix brand of parts in my car, i have zero brand loyalty and i'm as budget minded as anybody here, oops we're in the ITR forum i forgot, just get JDM you fine ITR ownder. ick.). even tough my motor is tired and burning oil i'm gonna put in the stage 2's and if the old dog can still bark a little louder.

Ive heard good things about the Skunk2 Stage 2's also, but the valve springs and titanium retainers is a must also....Modacar is selling them to me for $750 Camshaft, i didnt ask about the retainer or valve spring?...does anybody else sell them for cheaper???

i doubt its JDM bandwagon since AJR has been selling JDM stuff for a while.

To whom who asked the questions about Skunks...I would wait till the Stage 2 and 3 come out...they will enable a better comparison to the 'powerhouse' jdm cams.

Hello all.

I got type 2's and 3's running in cars right now. Back to back testing commences with SMSP headers on it this week.

I am testing it on a GSR motor with CTR pistons, stock GSR head (not ported) with SMSP header and type 1, 2 and 3 cams.
