Default Help me decide on lower Rear control arms & sway bar?

Hello HT members:

I'm looking to buying a set of lower control arms and sway bars, but undecided on what brand or company to go with. What do you guys recommend for an EK?
How do they handle?

I'm currently running AGX w/Ground Control Springs. I'm planning to add SPC camber kit for the front. Still undecided what kind of cambers to add on the rear.

Is it better to stay with one brand or mismatch?

All SRR, ST, SPC, OMNI, D2, Megan Racing, Function 7 etc. If you know of any others post them and give some information please.

I think on LCA's it is just a matter of preference. Some have different colors or designs, but I don't believe that one is better than another. I personally have SRR just because they looked beefy and I only got them because I needed the hole for a sway bar.

As for sway bars many people on HT run the ITR rear sway with Beaks kit. Most people love it. I heard that a nicer (yet more expensive) alternative is the Comptech rear sway/tie bar combo.

Hopes this helps.

what is wrong with your oem lcas????????

NOTHING!! aftermarket rear lcas are a complete waste of money. don't be stupid. save what you would have spent on them and get some koni yellows.

as for the sway bar, the comptech one is top shelf.

go to an autocross and learn how to drive so you're not wasting money on suspension for no reason. better yet leave the car alone and go.

whoa

hold on you're mixing things up ...
edit: you fixed it as i was typing this. but i'm not gonna delete it

an aftermarket sway bar especially in the rear is not a waste of money. most cars have one in the front, and a bigger aftermarket one up there generally isn't a good idea as it will promote understeer. some models (cx i think?) dont have one. even then it might not be a good idea to put one up front. a lot of autocrossers i know remove the front one. it's really a matter of preference, i'm going to try pulling the front one off and see how i like it.

civics don't come with one in the rear, and can benefit pretty well from one. but it still won't do much with soft springs and lousy shocks - pretty much just give some drop throttle oversteer and a little better in transition. your suspension is a chain, which is only as strong as the weakest link. but with good springs and shocks it binds the lcas up nicely and promotes great rotation. this has been my personal experience with two different suspension setups and having the rear sway bar on and off on each one.

also running one with stock like spring rates will put a lot of load on the subframe and the civic one is so damn thin and weak it will give out and rip. even the itr bar with the beaks kit and stiff springs can tear out (i've seen it on here) if you beat on it enough. this is why a piece like the comptech (there's a few others) that have a billet brace for the subframe are recommended, and worth the money.

aftermarket lower control arms are just plain retarded. there is no benefit besides bling, but who the **** looks at the rear suspension? it's one of those ricer mods that has gotten popular among idiots who know nothing about chassis prep. yeah ok they have poly bushings (which some argue are NOT good) and weigh like 2 lbs less but they're still ******* stupid. everyone buys them for the pretty colors and that's it.

that's what exactly my opinion too, I just got the suspension techniques rear sway + tie and it made a world of difference because the rear does not come out as much around tight corners, I meant the after market Lac's im just a little drunk and not catching my self that quick

i got the omni-powers for $109 shipped with all polyeurethane bushings in place

only reason i bought them was because i needed new rear lca's. when we were putting the agx's and the omni-power coilovers on we broke the bolts out of the stock 1s. i managed to mill the left one out, but the right one was tough. i had to get it out of my friends garage because his rents were gettin pissed so i ripped the bushing out and stuck a thick *** nut in there with rubber from the bushing still around it and welded washers on each side so i could get it home. and i wasnt about to go spend a shitload of money at honda for 1 stock lca so i figured id just buy both omni-power lca's for $109 shipped
