Default MSD Ignition questions...

Hey everyone. I recently recieved an MSD Ignition system from a friend and I'm not sure if its compatable with my honda. I have a 90 Hatch Back with an LS-VTEC. The box says MSD Digital DIS-2 Dual Channel Ignition (pn 6211), MSD Digital DIS-4 Multi Channel Ignition (pn6215). I was told that it can be used with most 4 cylinders euqipped with two dual output coils. Not sure if I have two dual output coils...don't know much about ignitions, coils, starters and wiring. Any help is greatly appreciated and if you need more information on it, just let me know. Thanks again for any help.

err... isnt this model msd for dis ( distributorless ignition system) equipped cars.
If so , we cant use this msd seeing our cars don't have a dis system. Also Our coil is inside the distributor. If you want to run a igniton system , I recommend the MSD 6AL , and its pretty easy to install. MSD makes a whole buch of diffrent igniton systems with with features. So see if it fits your needs before you buy one

If you want to upgrade to a msd coil, you will have to get a msd distributor cap , or you can modify the stock cap to run the new coil.

Again, the ignition that you were given will not work on your car. The MSD 6-AL is a very good choice the use. The unit itself is $230. I just got done doing a little research on the MSD’s, so let me share. I was going to get the 6-AL but I wanted the Two Step also, which is another $80, plus I would have needed the pulls which are $25 a package. So I eventually went with the MSD Digital 6. It is exactly like the MSD 6 series except it has built in dial selectable (no pills) rev limiter, two step, and trimming retard, ect. The price was $310. Well worth it in my mind. If you do not need the two step or timing retard, then go with the 6-AL, if you do not need the rev limiter then go with the 6-A. Why spend the extra money if you do not have to? Just a thought, hopefully this was good for my first post?!?!?
