Alright here's the problem. I have searched, but can't find specifics on this.

I am swapping on GSR front brakes on my car. I got these off of a CRX, so everything might not be from the GSR. My question is: The upper A arm that was on the brakes is too wide to fit on my EG. Aren't GSR upper A arms supposed to bolt directly up to my EH2 chassis? Also, i tried compensating by using my stock civic upper A arm. That worked, however, the car pigeon toed and the tires looked like this / \ . I assumed it was because the stock Civic upper A arm pulled the spindle back towards the car too much. I'm not sure if a toe/camber adjustment can fix that.

So here are the questions in a nutshell.

1) Will a stock GSR upper A arm bolt up to my civic chassis? (if so, these upper A arms are not GSR)

2) Can i use my stock civic upper A arm with the GSR spindles? (if so, i guess it'll just need a REALLY bad alignment)

3) Where can i get some upper A arms from a GSR faaaaaaaast.

Alright, so i'll just re-use my stock CIVIC upper A arms....they just make the tires go in really bad. Like this / \ . Are you sure an alignment will fix that?

 

The picture i have up is with using the stock CIVIC upper A arms. It holds on, but can an alignment shop fix that? Thanx.

 

yes, yes, and juss use ur stock civic...u probably need a camber kit

Most alignment shops are ehuppied to handle that ... i had my wheels like this // with the streeing wheel straight but with tires straight steering wheel turned and i mean badly like upside down to go straight and now shes as good as new lol ... just take it up that and talk to them they will look at it usually for free and see what they can doo ....

camber is what you're talking about and no a alignment shop can't fix that unless you have a camber kit.

 

Theyre Integra brakes and Integra arms...gsr isnt special.
An alignment will help the camber situation you have, but wont fix it. Integra arms really should be the same exact size as your civic's arms - they might not be dc arms, but da

 

Damn dude i'm beginning to think this **** is all bent up or something I just put the other side on. I don't know how to explain this.......but my passenger side tire is facing the left, and the driver side tire is facing the right. WTF. I didn't install it incorrectly, i'm sure. The camber issue isn't as bad anymore, now it's the damned tire positions!

Passenger side is facing this way &lt;---- and driver side is facing this way -----&gt;

So instead of the tires being facing straight like this || || , they're turned like this // \\ . Think of it from a bird's eye perspective. How am i even supposed to drive to an alignment shop like that?

 

Try your civic knuckles with the supposed "integra" arms and see what that looks like. Then your civic's arms with the integra knuckles. Eliminate the problems....but if nothing comes out straight in the end parts are bent...

If it gets bad enough tow that **** to the shop for an alignment.

 

I'm sure it's not the Civic arms. My reason for this is that my tires were perfectly straight a few hours ago. I'm not using any lower, or upper control arms from the teg, only the knuckle itself. I can't necessarily use anything from my civic to test that part out because it's all one piece.... Pretty much, i'm using everything from the civic, except for the knuckle - this is from the teg. Either the knuckles are bent, or the alignment shop is gonna have one hell of a time with my car.

 

Integra knuckles are taller than civic ones, so that will cause a camber issue.
As for your wheels being turned in, did you mess with the tie rod ends?

 

i had to remove the tie rod ends in order to swap the knuckle assemblies. I didn't do any physical adjusting of them, though. I just removed them, and re-installed them.

 

Right, out of the holes, but you didnt touch the threads/lock nuts, right?

yea, i didn't touch the threads or locknuts. What's wierd is that i keep thinking something could be bent, but damn those things seemed to solid to be bent. And i couldn't notice any obvious differences between the two sides .

just get skunk2 upper's. that will allow you to adjust camber.

 

Your camber is all screwy from the different parts. Trust me just get the camber kit or the adjustable OMNI upper control arms and get the front aligned and you'll be fine.

 

Not that thats what theyre asking...but it would solve the issue (but DO NOT get junk2...omni is the same design...which is crap)
