I went out to a junk yard today jsut "browsing" and found a 88-93 tegra with everything in it, motor tranny all. It's got leather interior so I figured it has the "best" edition. Would it be a D16A8/A9 or a B18B/B1? Is it worth paying 100 for the motor and 50 for the tranny, if I do this I'm going to go ahead and convert to 5spd so will the shift linkage and pedal set fit in my 95 hatch? I need a shopping list and opinions people!!

 

Well you are goign to go from a chasis with a hydraulic clutch setup to a cable driven one.....nto sure how much of a pain that will be. If you can get eh whole swap for 150 then I'd say buy it.....worst case scenario is that you'll be able to sell it to someone else. Either way, you win.

 

it is def a b18b1... dohc... def get the motor...and if it is a b18 you can put a hydro tranny on there.. not posibitive to wat exactly fiits it.. but... and early ls tranny should b hydro...92 to b specific...def a good buy for a 100 bucks.. but does it run??

 

iI don't know that to be honest, but I have to go pick up the fenders I found off a EG coupe and I'm probably going to get it. Would it be worth getting the leather seats from the tegra? they're in good shape just need some leather treatment. Will the door panels fit in the hatch?

Anyone got a shopping list for a B18B1 swap into and EG hatch(dx)??
